A month on after his departure was all but confirmed, the seemingly unending talks between Christophe Galtier and Paris Saint-Germain over the termination of the manager’s two-year contract look set to be coming to an end.
According to L’Équipe this morning, an official announcement is on its way. Reportedly, talks had resumed this Monday and had been quickly moving along this Tuesday morning, with the two parties having now reached an agreement over the financial terms involved.
As a result, both Galtier and his assistant Thierry Oleksiak – who were informed that they would not be kept on days after the Ligue 1 title was wrapped up – have secured the compensation they were looking for. Their contracts were due to run until the end of next season.
With PSG’s managerial limbo now set to be cleared up, the arrival of Luis Enrique as Galtier’s successor is also on the verge of being confirmed – the make-up of the Spaniard’s coaching staff, ostensibly, is another matter entirely.
