Romano details that the package will cost Les Parisiens worth €80 million, out of which €65m will be a straight fee and €15m in add-ons.

Ramos will join PSG initially on loan, and his transfer is expected to be made permanent in 2024 amid concerns over Financial Fair Play regulations.

Medical tests have been scheduled for next week.

PSG were linked with several strikers, including Victor Osimhen, Rasmus Hojlund and Harry Kane, but they have gone with Ramos.

If the deal goes through, the 22-year-old will eclipse Edinson Cavani as PSG’s third most expensive signing behind Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

Ramos quickly rose to prominence following an eye-catching breakout campaign with Benfica last season, where he bagged 27 goals and 12 assists in all competitions.

He gained further popularity after scoring a hat-trick against Switzerland in the World Cup 2022, strengthening his status as one of the best strikers in Europe.

PSG have long been tracking Ramos, with his compatriot and the club’s footballing advisor, Luis Campos, an admirer of his potential.

Les Parisiens’ excellent relationship with Ramos’ agent Jorge Mendes has proved key, with the Portuguese superagent brokering deals for Renato Sanches, Vitinha, Manuel Ugarte and Marco Asensio.

They are preparing for a life without Mbappe, whose future at Parc des Princes is hanging by a thread.
