The Reds are currently eight points clear of second-placed Bristol City with four games to play. Victory on Merseyside today would move Matt Beard’s side 11 points clear with the prospect of an away game at Bristol City next weekend. A positive result in that match would see Liverpool promoted back to the top flight.
Liverpool boss Beard will welcome captain Niamh Fahey back to the side after she missed last weekend’s goalless draw with Charlton Athletic through illness. Long term absentees Rylee Foster and Rianna Dean will remain sidelined while the current condition of defender Leighanne Robe is unknown.
Durham travel to Merseyside in good shape, although they will be keen to return to the goal trail following back-to-back goalless draws. Manager Lee Sanders remains without the services of forward Nicki Gears but the player is making good progress on the training pitch as she bids to return from a long term injury.
The FA Women’s Championship fixture between Liverpool and Durham at Prenton Park kicks-off at midday. Tickets remain on-sale and can be purchased by clicking here.
