A soccer team with a record of 4-7-16 and sits at the bottom of the MLS Western Conference standings has a chance to win the 2025 Leagues Cup. The defending MLS Cup champions may not qualify for this year's playoffs. However, they are still in the running for a different title.
The semifinals of the Leagues Cup are here with four MLS teams in action. Orlando City SC and Inter Miami play on Wednesday evening before the Los Angeles Galaxy hosts the Seattle Sounders FC.
The LA Galaxy have not only benefited from improved play by goalkeeper Novak Micovic, but the offensive quartet of Gabriel Pec, Joseph Paintsil, Marco Reus, and Matheus Nascimento has done most of the scoring for their team in the Leagues Cup tournament.
Seattle will have to win on without one of the best players on Wednesday. The Sounders are still a threat behind Albert Rusnák and Paul Rothrock. Rusnák has 10 goals and seven assists while Rothrock also has seven assists but just three goals in MLS this season.

The Seattle Sounders will not have their top scorer on the field for them against the Los Angeles Galaxy. Forward Danny Musovski has been suspended for the remainder of this year's Leagues Cup tournament.
The Sounders star and last week's Player of the Game for Seattle committed five fouls against Puebla during their quarterfinal game. After initiating contact with an official, Musovski was ejected and further penalized.
The LA Galaxy won their quarterfinal match against Pachuca with ease, 2-1. Marco Reus scored the team's second goal as Pachuca defender Daniel Aceves recorded an own goal early in the first half.
This game is made available on both Apple TV and Apple TV+. Though it is not a Major League Soccer contest, MLS Season Pass will be still be showing this semifinal game, as well as the one between Orlando City SC and Inter Miami.

Not only is this rematch of the 2024 MLS Western Conference Finals, but it's a rematch of last year's League Cup game that saw the Sounders beat the LA Galaxy, 3-1.
The two teams kick-off at 7:45 PT and 10:45 ET on Wednesday night from Carson, California. The LA Galaxy have won all four of their MLS regular season games and three of their four Leagues Cup games this year at Dignity Health Sports Park.
The winner moves on to Saturday's championship match. The loser has to settle for a potential third-place finish against the other loser, Inter Miami or Orlando City SC. The Third-Place match is also on Saturday of Labor Day weekend.
