FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup holders Manchester City will be hoping to take another step towards this season’s final when they travel to Ashton Gate to take on Bristol City in the quarter-finals on Wednesday evening.

The Cityzens came from behind to defeat Chelsea 3-1 in Wimbledon in last season’s final and Gareth Taylor’s side have their sights set upon going all of the way once again. The latest challenge comes in the form of a Bristol City side who have performed well in the Barclays Women’s Championship this season.

Bristol City remain without the services of long-term absentee Brooke Aspin while Chloe Mustaki and Ffion Morgan are also expected to be unavailable. On loan Manchester United midfielder Grace Clinton is suspended while Spurs loanee Gracie Pearse is believed to be cup-tied.

Manchester City head coach Gareth Taylor has confirmed that Esme Morgan and Demi Stokes are both unlikely to feature in his squad for the Bristol City game, however, the pair are close to fitness. Taylor may look to adopt some squad rotation with The Cityzens facing two domestic cup ties in the space of four days.

The FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup quarter-final fixture between Bristol City and Manchester City is scheduled to kick-off at 7pm on Wednesday evening. Tickets remain on-sale and can be purchased by clicking here.
