Lille President Olivier Letang says the Ligue 1 side earned barely €7m from Victor Osimhen’s transfer to Napoli in 2020.
Osimhen joined the Partenopei from Lille in 2020 in a deal believed to be worth over €70m, including four Napoli players who never featured for Lille.
Letang, the President of the French club, recently told L’Equipe TV that the club earned much less than that.

“The net amount, considering the player’s purchase, four players valued at €20m, but who were worth nothing, intermediaries and commissions, was €7m, more or less,” he revealed via Gazzetta.
Authorities in Italy and France have investigated Napoli’s deal to sign Osimhen in 2020.
“Napoli have already been judged on this matter with two different levels of the justice system that cleared the club and directors, finding no irregularities,” the club lawyer Mattia Grassani said last year.
“Napoli is the only club where the Prosecutor did not ask for the judgment to be revoked, which then led to Juventus having first a 15-point and then a 10-point Serie A penalty.”
Letang became the Lille President a few months after Osimhen’s move to Napoli four years ago.
The Nigeria international scored 76 goals in 133 Napoli appearances, contributing to the Partenopei’s historic 2023 Serie A title, the first in 33 years.
He’s currently on loan at Turkish side Galatasaray, where he has scored ten goals in 14 appearances.
He is contracted at the Stadio Maradona until 2026, but he has clauses to leave the club permanently in January or summer.
