Luis Diaz’s name has been prominently linked with Barcelona all throughout the summer so far, especially with Nico Williams’ contract renewal at Athletic Club.

The Colombian international is the desired target for sporting director Deco as the club look to add more quality to the frontline.

However, finding an agreement with Liverpool has proven to be quite difficult so far, which is why Barcelona have been linked with moves for other attackers across Europe, including Marcus Rashford.

Luis Diaz move unfeasible for Barcelona

A recent report from Jorge Picon has offered an update on Barcelona’s pursuit of Luis Diaz, offering a key piece of insight.

As per the Spanish journalist, a move for Diaz is financially unfeasible for Barcelona due to the sheer cost of the operation.

This is hardly surprising, as earlier reports have indicated that Liverpool are not considering a sale for Luis Diaz unless they receive an offer around €85 million.

This practically rules Barcelona out of the chase as the Catalans are not in a position to spend such a large amount of money on a single player this summer.

This has left Diaz looking for other options as he looks to leave Anfield this summer. One option that particularly interests him is Saudi Arabia.

This is despite the fact that Diaz has been linked with a host of other European giants, including Bayern Munich, who have missed out on Nico Williams and Florian Wirtz this summer.

Speaking of Wirtz, his big-money move to Liverpool means that the Reds are determined to recoup that sort of money through the sale of Diaz.

As for Barça, Rashford has emerged as the likeliest target, with the club’s president, Joan Laporta and coach Hansi Flick even holding an important meeting with his agent yesterday.
