Barcelona star Lamine Yamal has late this week unveiled his personal all-time XI of Blaugrana players.
And it features a whole host of the most recognisable names in the recent history of the Catalan heavyweights.
With Lamine still just 17 years of age, it should come as little surprise to learn of the winger’s selection featuring only players from this century.
The Spanish international grew up watching and supporting Barcelona, and was lucky enough to enjoy one of the greatest eras in the club’s history, as a fan.
Such success has in turn been reflected in Lamine’s choice of XI.
Speaking during an interview with Barca’s official media channels this week, the young attacker provided the following breakdown:
“In goal I say Víctor Valdés, because in my head he is the most historic goalkeeper we have had and the one I have seen play. In defence, I say Gerard Piqué, Puyol and Mascherano.
“In midfield, Xavi, Iniesta and Busquets, obviously. And I’ll put Ronaldinho on, because up front I already know who I’ll put and I won’t have space.”
“Messi obviously, and I wanted to put Neymar because he is my favourite player and Luis Suárez as a striker. For me, he is top.”
