Premier League clubs spent more than double in agent’s fees compared to their Serie A counterparts in the 2023-24 season.

It is no secret that the English sides are financial powerhouses on the transfer market, allowing even the relegation-threatened teams to out-spend some of the biggest clubs in Italy.

That is not just reflected in the transfer fees, but also the commission to various agents.

A survey from the FA showed that Chelsea alone spent £75.1m (circa €87.9m) in agent’s fees this season, followed by Manchester City with £60.6m (€70.92m), Manchester United £34m (€39.84m), Liverpool £31.5m (€36.85m) and Arsenal £24.7m (€28.96m).

In total, the Premier League teams spent over £409m (circa €478m).

Looking at the fees spent for agents in Serie A from the period of January 1 2023 to December 31 2023, the total is only €220m.

InterJuventus on €23.05m, Fiorentina €15.3m, Milan €15.27m and Atalanta €14.77m.

The average spending on agent’s fees in Serie A is €11m, less than half the €24m shelled out by Premier League sides.
