Bayern Munich will look to regain top spot in the Bundesliga when they face Wolfsburg on Sunday evening at the Volkswagen Arena, kick-off 17:30CET.

Winless in their three Bundesliga games in 2023, Julian Nagelsmann is also without two key players against Wolfsburg. Kerry Hau of Sport1 reports that the Rekordmeister will be without Dayot Upamecano and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, whilst Ryan Gravenberch is also missing from the squad.

This means that Benjamin Pavard could play his preferred position in central-defence, alongside Matthijs de Ligt, which would see deadline day arrival João Cancelo play at right-back.

Thomas Müller is likely to start as the No. 9 in the absence of Choupo-Moting and with a potential return of Leon Goretzka, it would see Nagelsmann revert back to a double-pivot.

As for Wolfsburg, it’s questionable as to whether or not Koen Casteels recovers from a cold, but expect the Belgian to start in goal. After an impressive start to 2023, despite last weekend’s defeat against Werder Bremen, expect Niko Kovač to opt for Jakub Kaminski, Patrick Wimmer and Jonas Wind in attack again.
