On Nkunku rumours

“My answer is that I don’t speak about players that aren’t Chelsea players. It was the same at Brighton. There are a lot of names out there but I will only speak about Chelsea players and not anyone else.”

On team news

“Edou [Mendy] has been training with the team the last few days so he will be in the squad which is good news for us because we need as much competition for places.

“[Jorginho] felt some discomfort against Crystal Palace but has trained today. We’ll see how he reacts to that. Kai had a slight feeling after Palace but trained today.

“My focus at the moment is to help him come back in a good way so that he is back for us and when he is on the pitch, he is a huge asset for us.

“The other thing is between the club and him. My focus is to help him get fit and enjoying his football. There are not many better players in world football than [Kanté]”

On facing Milan

“They’re a top team, as were Salzburg in terms of how competitive they were. Every game is different. It’s a massive challenge for us and an exciting challenge for us.

“We’ll try for three points. It’s important to win but we’re playing against a top opponent. So we have to play well and create a good atmosphere. We’re looking forward to it.”
