Poland’s U21s have been drawn in a strong Group D for their 2025 European Championship qualifying campaign. Michał Probierz’s young charges will face off against Germany, Israel, Kosovo, Bulgaria and Estonia.

The draw pairs the Poles with both the Germans and the Israelis for the second campaign running, with both having bettered Maciej Stolarczyk’s youngsters to win a place at the 2023 tournament. The Eaglets were beaten 2-1 in the home fixtures against both teams, and also managed a draw in Israel. Although Michał Skóraś, Kacper Kozłowski and an Adrian Benedyczak brace gave the Poles a decisive 4-0 win against Germany in the final game, it was at a point where the Germans had already run away with the group.

Both Estonia and Bulgaria have also been relatively recent opponents for Poland’s youngsters, having met during qualification for the 2021 tournament. Whilst Estonia were beaten twice (6-0 and 4-0), Poland could only manage one point against Bulgaria (1-1 and 0-3).

The Poles, meanwhile, have never met Kosovo at this level.

Qualification for Euro 2025 begins as early as March, and the Group Stage ends in October 2024. Finishing first in the group guarantees a spot alongside hosts Slovakia in the tournament – as does a place amongst the three best runners-up. The remaining six runners-up will then meet in the play-offs in November 2024, to decide the final three places.
