Liverpool

Alisson (6): Did not have anything to do till Forest’s goal. Made a good stop to deny Elanga.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (6.5): Not near his best, but wasn’t awful either. Created the most chances in the game.

Virgil van Dijk (5): Noticed him more in the opposition box, which probably paints a picture of how this game went. Couple good chances to score, but headers just about went wide. Was weirdly second best in his ground duels.

Ibrahima Konate (5): Gave Callum Hudson Odoi too much space. Should have closed him down for the goal.

Andrew Robertson (6): Work horse as always. Didn’t have much to do defensively though.

Ryan Gravenberch (8): Absolutely brilliant. I don’t think any Liverpool fan expected Gravenberch to start the season, let alone be one of their best players so far. Slot has unlocked him.

Alexis Mac Allister (6): Had a midfield battle with Yates. He lost the physical battle, but in the technical one, he was far superior. Did a cheeky trivela cross that Jota should have done better from.

Dominik Szoboszlai (4): Struggled massively. Messed up quite a few attacks. Liverpool could have done with Harvey Elliott today.

Diogo Jota (5): Nowhere near as involved as he should of been. Wasn’t great with his passing throughout the match as well. Not at his best today.

Luis Diaz (6.5): Electric and caused constant problems, but it just wasn’t clicking for the frontmen today. Hit the post after good pressing work to steal the ball back.

Mohamed Salah (5): Similarly to his partners up top, they all weren’t at their best. Decision-making was questionable. Poor.

Subs

Darwin Nunez ’61 (4): His impact was negligible.

Cody Gakpo ’61 (4): He did not have the desired effect on the match

Conor Bradley ’61 (5): Was too easily bet by Hudson Odoi. Defense looked more open after he came on.

Kostas Tsimikas ’75 (6): Didn’t put much wrong, but didn’t impact the game as his sub was intended to do.

Curtis Jones ’75 (5): Back from injury.

Nottingham Forest

Matz Sels (7): Nearly dropped an unassuming header from Diaz into his own net. Made a couple decent saves throughout the game.

Alex Moreno (8): Dealt with Salah with ease. He won 7/10 of his duels and was a key part of the Forest clean sheet.

Murillo (8): This man will be at a top six club in the next few years. An absolutely monstrous performance today from the Brazilian.

Nikola Milenković (8): Like his partner, he was incredible. Dealt with LFC’s firepower extremely well.

Ola Aina (9): Made a goal-line clearance to prevent a goal for Liverpool in the 70th minute. Immense across the 90 minutes, won the majority of his duels, and and rarely put a pass wrong. MOTM.

Ryan Yates (6): The fella loves a foul and fair play; he got away with quite a few today. Eventually got booked in minute 45.

Nicolás Domínguez (6): Solid but nothing special. His biggest impact was leaving the pitch for the man who scored the winner

James Ward-Prowse (7): Proved he is more than just a free-kick merchant.

Elliott Anderson (7): Worked hard off the ball, and helped Forest keep their clean sheet.

Morgan Gibbs-White (7.5): Forest’s dangerman. Created two chances, inclduing a big chance. Battled well in midfield aswell.

Chris Wood (6): While he may have been anonymous for large parts of the game, his presence was enough to cause issues.

Subs

Callum Hudson-Odoi ’54 (8): Caused multiple issues for Conor Bradley. His goal was sensational.

Anthony Elanga ’61 (7.5): Incredible pass to create Forest’s goal. Could have scored himself if it weren’t’ for a great Alisson save.

Neco Williams ’80 (N/A): Played against his former team.
