In less than 15 minutes, AC Milan will take on Venezia in the fifth round of Serie A. Currently on an unbeaten run in the league, with three wins and one draw, Stefano Pioli’s men want it to stay that way.

Pioli has decided to make five changes to the XI we saw against Juventus as the Rossoneri really should beat Venezia this evening. The likes of Pierre Kalulu, Matteo Gabbia and Fode Ballo-Toure will get the chance from the first minute.

Obviously, Milan can’t afford to underestimate Venezia and will have to be focused on the game. In an interview with Sky, as cited by MilanNews, Pioli explained why he has decided to go with this eleven, among other things.

On the game…

“The goal is to play well and try to win, we come from a good performance, we return to play in front of our fans and we want to do it in the best possible way.”

On turnover and absences…

“It’s the best possible XI for tonight, last week we spent a lot, we played three games at a very high physical and mental level. Those that start tonight are very well and will play well.”

On Venezia…

“Venezia play good football, they keep the pitch well. We will have to be very careful. They have certainties. It will take a quality performance.”

On injuries…

“We’ll think about it tomorrow, now focus on the game.”

Milan are currently on 10 points and a win would take them up to 13, which would be very good from the first five games. Hopefully, they will get the job done as expected.
