Stefano Pioli has expressed his frustration with the way that his time at AC Milan has been portrayed by the media and sections of the fanbase.

Milan are heading into the last five league games of the season with very little to play for, having lost the derby to Inter on Monday night which followed a Europa League elimination at the hands of Roma.

Pioli spoke to the reporters who gathered at Milanello on the eve of the trip to face Juventus for his pre-match press conference, and he was asked about whether this feels like his most difficult moment at the club.

“In these almost five years there has been no middle ground. Either very positive moments or very negative moments. I can’t tell you if it is the most negative, but it is the closest and therefore also the most painful,” he said.

“If I could change the result I would give everything I have to change the derbies, but it can’t be done anymore. I for one have to have broad shoulders, understand that it’s part of the game and it’s part of my job. We have to demonstrate who we are until the end.”

Most reliable sources are reporting that Pioli’s time at the club will come to an end after the final game of the season. He is right at pointing out though that the Italian press have a tendency to go from one extreme to the other based on the results.
