Paris Saint-Germain's failure to hit the target went to new levels in Tuesday's Champions League semi-final return leg.

Luis Enrique's side needed to overturn a one-goal deficit on home soil to stand a chance of reaching Wembley but Lady Luck wasn't on their side.

They first hit the woodwork early in the second half when Warren Zaïre-Emery flashes a shot against the post from close range.

It went from bad to worse for Les Parisiens after Mats Hummels gave the visitors a two-goal cushion in the tie from a corner.

With the clock running down at the Parc des Princes, Nuno Mendes, Kylian Mbappé and Vitinha all crashed efforts against the crossbar.

That's now six times across the two legs that the Ligue 1 champions managed to rattle the frame of Gregor Kobel's goal.

As a result, they missed out on a second Champions League showpiece appearance since 2020.
