Inter continue their FIFA Club World Cup campaign thanks to an imperious performance, as they beat River Plate. The win didn't just see them qualify for the knock-out rounds but also yielded plenty of positive signs for the group, both in terms of the collective effort and individual performances. Here are the stats from the game for Chivu's men.

THE NERAZZURRI'S STATS

The Nerazzurri won their second consecutive game thanks to a solid and united performance.

Taking the old tournament format into account, Inter have won a total of four out of their five games in the Club World Cup.

The team's defence is one of their greatest strengths: Inter have kept a clean sheet in three of their five Club World Cup outings.

FRANCESCO PIO ESPOSITO, A RECORD GOAL

Francesco Pio Esposito left his mark against River. At just 19 years and 363 days, he has become Inter's youngest goalscorer in an international competition since Marco Benassi against Cluj in 2013 (18 years and 166 days).

In the 2025 Club World Cup, the only player younger than Esposito (June 2005) to have scored and provided an assist is Dortmund's Jobe Bellingham (September 2005) - a clear signal of the Inter forward's precocious talent.

BASTONI REDISCOVERS THE WAY TO GOAL

Alessandro Bastoni also got back on the scoresheet with a goal against Los Millonarios, his first for the Club since 28 December when he hit the back of the net against Cagliari in Serie A. It was a telling contribution by the Inter centre-back, who also knows how who make an impact in the opposition half.
