Manchester United stars Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford have angered a section of the club’s supporters with their latest controversial social media activity.

Like Rashford, Garnacho is facing an extremely uncertain future at United.

Rashford of course fell out with Ruben Amorim shortly after the Portuguese coach’s appointment as Erik ten Hag’s replacement in November last year.

The two failed to see eye-to-eye, leading Amorim to exile Rashford from the first team. To ensure his career doesn’t stall and he’s not wasted on the bench, United sanctioned a January loan exit to Aston Villa. Rashford enjoyed an uptick in form at the Birmingham outfit, although they appear unlikely to exercise the £40m option to make his stay a permanent one.

The England international is not thought to have a place under Amorim and is firmly on the hunt for a new club.

Meanwhile, tensions between Garnacho and Amorim, which had simmered throughout the 2024/25 season, came to a head with a major fallout immediately after the Europa League final.

Unhappy with the fact that he was named on the bench for the final at San Mames, Garnacho publicly slammed the manager’s decision while also casting doubts over his own future.

It’s understood that Amorim then told him to look for a new club as his services are no longer needed at Old Trafford.

A report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that Amorim is considering axing both Rashford and Garnacho from the team’s pre-season squad.

Now, the pair have stirred controversy once more.

Garnacho shared pictures of his holiday in Ibiza, which included a picture of himself wearing Rashford’s Aston Villa shirt.

Unsurprisingly, this has not gone down well with some fans, who have lambasted Garnacho for wearing a rival team’s colours. Others have questioned whether there is a hidden message, especially considering the Argentine has also been rumoured to be on Villa’s radar.

Rashford showed his support for Garnacho as he commented on the post, “My brother”, along with a heart emoji.

It might just be a harmless exchange between colleagues, but given their individual circumstances, the optics aren’t great.
