In a recent report, Fichajes stated that Manchester United have identified Sevilla midfielder Lucien Agoume as a target. It has been mentioned that the Red Devils are eyeing a move to recruit the French midfielder in this summer transfer window.

Agoume’s Impressive Run Of Form In Spanish Football

Agoume had a solid campaign at the Andalusian club recently as he put in a string of impressive displays for them at the centre of the park. The 23-year-old made 37 appearances for Sevilla last season, netting one goal and grabbing three assists in multiple competitions.

The French talent deserves a ton of credit for making 70 tackles, 30 blocks and 41 interceptions in La Liga. He was even tidy when distributing possession from midfield based on his pass success rate of 81.5% in the Spanish top flight (stats via fbref.com).

His current contract at the Spanish club will run out in the summer of 2028. Thus, the Red Devils would have to make a convincing offer if they are serious about signing Agoume this off-season.

What Will Agoume Add To Manchester United Boss Ruben Amorim’s Team?

Agoume is a solid tackler of the ball and can sense the danger well to earn the ball back for his team at the centre of the park. He doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when needed and is an accurate passer of the ball as well.

The French sensation mainly operates as a holding midfielder but can also fill in as a box-to-box midfielder if asked to do so by his manager. However, there are some concerns over whether he can adapt to the physical side and high intensity of the Premier League if Man United manage to bring him on board this summer.

Agoume would add more bite and steel to Ruben Amorim’s midfield department. He has what it takes to challenge for a regular starting place at the Mancunian club next season.

At 23, Agoume has his peak years ahead of him which makes him a worthy target for the Red Devils to consider in this summer transfer window. All in all, Amorim would be wise to move in for the French midfield ace ahead of the new campaign.
