Tom Kim is taking the PGA Tour by storm - and taking inspiration from one of his sporting heroes, Heung-Min Son.

Golf’s rising star from Seoul became the first player since a certain Tiger Woods in 1996 to win two PGA tournaments before the age of 21 when he landed the Shriner’s Children’s Open in Las Vegas in October. Now ranked inside the PGA’s top 20, he finished tied 16th in the Masters at Augusta last month, where he played a practice round with Woods, his childhood hero, on the Monday of the tournament.

Last week, Tom, who turns 21 in June, visited Spurs for the first time, completed the Dare Skywalk and then watched our 2-2 draw against Manchester United at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Before the game, he joined us on our matchday show N17 Live, where he spoke about his compatriot and South Korea hero Sonny...

“Sonny is a gift to South Korea,” Tom told us. “He’s done so many amazing things, inspired so many people and continues to do so. I play a very different sport, but he’s inspired me in so many ways. Words cannot express how cool it is to see a South Korean on this world stage and inspiring so many kids.

“Like I said, we play different sports, but it definitely pushes me and motivates me to be able to do something like he’s doing and inspire the next generation. It’s amazing to see him do so many cool things and hopefully I’ll be able to do that in my sport - I’ve still got a long way to go! Sonny’s won the Golden Boot! I’ve got a lot to work on!”

Look out for more from Tom soon...
