The Manchester Evening News says among the 28-strong squad that trained on Monday were eight academy players, boosting the numbers after a number have been involved in the Champions League already this season. Tommy Doyle, Cole Palmer, Adrian Bernabe, Felix Nmecha, James McAtee and Alpha Dionkou are all named in City's 'B' List in their Champions League squad and could be part of the group that travels to Hungary.

Also training were Liam Delap, Claudio Gomes and Luke Mbete, but those three are not yet listed in the squad and would have to be added before being considered. In Delap's case, he is ineligible for this season's Champions League so definitely won't feature.

With most senior players training, it's unlikely more than a couple of youngsters would travel, but with the cancellation of the UEFA Youth League, where the EDS were set to take on Olympiacos, this will be as close to European action some of the academy stars will get.
