The Beatles or the Stones? Nike or adidas? Jam or marmalade?
These are the sort of questions which have divided mankind for centuries and we’re still no closer to reaching a consensus.
But there’s one debate that Jürgen Klopp has settled once and for all: Pep Guardiola or José Mourinho?
The two managerial behemoths have been slugging it out in Manchester since the summer of 2016 and since then, it’s fair to say Guardiola’s City have had the upper hand their over local rivals.
That doesn’t mean two-time Champions League winner Mourinho isn’t still one of the best coaches on the planet, however, and even though things aren’t going so well for him at the moment, you should never write him off.
But who is the best coach of the two? Liverpool boss Klopp was asked just that in an interview with Sky Germany, and the answer he gave was unequivocal.
“Pep Guardiola,” he said.
“It’s not about better. I think Pep is the best coach in the world, so you could have asked about any other name.
“It’s not about the comparison with José. Pep is doing quite alright.”
So there’s that one settled. Now we just need Jürgen to sort out the Lionel Messi vs Cristiano Ronaldo discourse and we can all get on with our lives.
Oh, and it’s The Beatles, adidas and jam, in case you were wondering.
