Roma attacker Paulo Dybala did not get to celebrate his recent decision to stay at Roma with a victory vs Empoli.
The Argentine and the rest of De Rossi’s team exited the Olimpico defeated 1-2 against the Tuscan side.
At full-time, Dybala commented the loss.
“Today we weren’t very good at doing what we did during the week. We made a lot of mistakes. We have to keep working,” he said to Sky Sport after the match.
“Let’s hope the market closes quickly so we know who we are and who we will be together throughout the year.”
“We all need to try to understand what we did wrong and look at the mistakes we made,” he added.
“In my opinion there were many errors at a tactical level, also at a technical and individual level. They were trivial mistakes, in the end we tried to turn the game around but it was too late.”
“I don’t feel like my choice to stay puts any extra pressure on me. I try to give my best in every training session and in every match, to give the best to the team, compared to what the coach asks of me.”
“If you do your best, you reproduce the joy of the people and you try to do things right for the fans.”
“My decision to stay? Everyone looks at the money, but I considered a lot of other things before deciding. There was my family, my wife in particular, the city, the team, the desire to return to the national team: I’m 30 years old, I feel good, even if I see a lot of criticism for the injuries I suffer.”
“I try to work as hard as I can and take care of myself, to perform at my best, then we only talk about the money: when you see those figures, I can’t deny that you think about it. But at the end the other factors made me decide to stay.”
“Nothing changed for my agent, I heard a lot through the grapevine that he was going to get a lot of money and that’s not true. But the most important thing for him is that I’m happy: he’s a person I love very much, who I’ve worked with for a long time. It’s not true what came out in the newspapers. I don’t know about the Arabs, I haven’t spoken to them.”
