Paul Pogba signs with Monaco

AS Monaco have confirmed the signing of former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba on a two-year deal.

The move marks Pogba’s return to football after a lengthy spell on the sidelines, largely due to an 18-month doping ban handed down in 2023.

The 2018 World Cup winner has barely featured in the past three seasons, making just 12 appearances while also dealing with injury setbacks and an extortion case in which he was the victim.

Pogba failed a drugs test in August 2023 following a match for Juventus. Although he’s been eligible to play again since March, his contract with the Italian club was terminated last year.

Interestingly, this will be Pogba’s first time playing in Ligue 1, despite being a regular for the French national team.

Monaco, who finished third in Ligue 1 last season, will be competing in the Champions League in the upcoming campaign.
