The less said about Paul Pogba's appearance versus Liverpool, the better.

After being left out of Manchester United's starting XI by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the Frenchman was brought on at half-time with the team losing 4-0.

It was a horrible situation for the World Cup winner, but he didn't exactly cover himself in glory either.

Pogba was guilty of surrendering possession for Liverpool's fifth goal and the 28-year-old then picked up a red card shortly after for an awful tackle on Naby Keita.

According to The Sun, the former Juventus man apologised to the rest of the squad for his reckless cameo at Old Trafford last Sunday.

However, the publication add that while he was apologetic to his teammates, Pogba didn't say a word to Solskjaer.

Pogba puts contract talks on hold as well

The Sun also state that the midfielder has now put contract talks between him and United on hold.

Pogba is in the last year of his current deal with the Red Devils, meaning he can leave the club for free at the end of the 2021/22 season.

So there you have it, the France international appears to be clashing with another United manager after his infamous fallout with Jose Mourinho back in 2019.

Pogba started this campaign on fire, notching four assists in a 6-1 victory over Leeds.

But his form has tailed off in recent weeks and he was recently demoted to the bench for the 3-2 victory over Atalanta in the Champions League.

You have to wonder whether that decision by Solskjaer had something to do with Pogba's interview following the 4-2 defeat to Leicester City in the Premier League.

"We've had these kinds of games for a long time," the United star said after that match.

"We have not found the problem, conceding easy goals - we need to be more mature, play with more experience and arrogance in a good way.
