Sheffield United boss Paul Heckingbottom has admitted he doesn’t know the full extent of Iliman Ndiaye’s injury after he was forced off in the win over Stoke.
The 22-year-old has been exceptional for the Blades this season and he continued his fine form on Saturday afternoon by scoring in the 3-1 success over the Potters.
However, the one negative was the fact that Ndiaye went off and Heckingbottom gave an update on the player when speaking to Yorkshire Live after the game.
“Don’t know, I have not seen him. He wanted to carry on and we were wanting to make a change anyway, but physio said to bring him off. Honestly don’t know, but he’s got a bag of ice on side of his leg.”
Ndiaye grabbed his tenth league goal of the campaign so far and it has helped the Blades open up an 11-point gap over third place Watford as they chase automatic promotion back to the Premier League.
Heckingbottom will hope to have the influential attacker back available for Friday’s game against Hull City.

The verdict
This is a concern because everyone has seen how good Ndiaye is this season, where he has undoubtedly been one of the best players in the league.
So, it goes without saying that any absence would be a real problem for the Blades but it’s too soon to speculate on that and the fact he wanted to carry on is obviously a positive.
You would expect more news in the coming days but it doesn’t sound like it’s a really serious one.
