Manchester United defender Harry Maguire was spotted watching his old side Sheffield United in playoff action yesterday evening.

Maguire was born in the Yorkshire city and started off his professional career there.

He came through the youth system at the Blades before making his senior debut in 2011.

Maguire played 166 times for his boyhood club and was named Player of the Year three times in a row.

He eventually moved to Hull City in 2014. He would later transfer to Leicester City and of course, United in 2019.

The Sun report that Maguire was back supporting his local side at Bramall Lane as Sheffield United booked their place in the Championship playoff final.

After winning 3-0 away to Bristol City, they comfortably ran out 3-0 winners at home, to clinch a place in the showpiece event with a 6-0 aggregate demolition.

The paper claimed that “the United star looked in high spirits while walking through the rows leading to the director’s box.”

Maguire will be hoping his local side can make it to the Premier League when they will face either Sunderland or Coventry City at Wembley on Saturday 24th May.

The England defender has already played against the Blades in the Premier League and scored against them in 2021 as Man United slipped to an embarrassing 1-2 defeat at Old Trafford.

He was also on the scoresheet last April in United’s 4-2 victory over the Yorkshire side during their last stint in the top division.

Maguire has had a decent season, scoring four goals in 37 appearances and will hope to play a key role in the upcoming Europa League final against Tottenham Hotspur next week.
