EA FC 24 is here and we cannot wait to see what impact the introduction of PlayStyles will have on the game.

A new system that provides players with boosts for certain attributes or skills in the areas they excel, PlayStyles have been assigned to players with the help of Opta data so in-game performances can reflect real life more closely than ever.

PlayStyles+ goes even further than just boosting certain abilities, boosting players to almost unique world class levels.

Thinking of how past can meet present, here are some of the new icons available in Ultimate Team and how their world class attributes would perhaps be married up with PlayStyles+ in this year’s game using the definitions provided by EA.

Bobby Charlton & Mia Hamm

New icons in this year’s game!

Power Shot: Performs power shots much faster and with a significant increase in speed.

Though he played in midfield, Charlton was known for his goals and particularly his ability to fire the ball in from distance. England’s all-time third top goalscorer, his record speaks for itself.

Hamm scored a sensational 158 goals for the USWNT and was known for her ability to combine precision with power in front of goal.

Zico & Kelly Smith

New icons in this year’s game!

Dead Ball: Set pieces are delivered with exceptional speed, curve, and accuracy. Ball trajectory preview line is at maximum length.

No surprises here, magical playmaker Zico is said to have scored 101 free-kicks during his career, including seven for Brazil.

Kelly Smith was another dead ball specialist but also so much more. The Arsenal legend has also been given the Finesse Shot and Power Header PlayStyles: the ultimate goalscorer.

Franck Ribéry

New icon in this year’s game!

Technical: Reaches even higher speed when performing Controlled Sprint and performs wide turns while dribbling with greater precision.

A treble-winner with Bayern Munich, Ribéry was a wizard with the ball, a true tricky winger, and the ability to control the ball when moving at speed underpinned his game.

Birgit Prinz

New icon in this year’s game!

Aerial: Performs even higher jumps and has greatly improved aerial physical presence.

The second top scorer in Women’s World Cup history with 14 goals (including three headers), Prinz was lethal in front of goal and excelled in the air. Combined with the Power Header PlayStyle, that ability to dominate defenders and beat goalkeepers is reflected when you use her in this year’s game.
