Lille captain Benjamin André (34) will extend his contract with Les Dogues after being heavily courted by promoted Ligue 1 side Paris FC, according to Marc Mechenoua. Paris FC had previously submitted a bid of €3m that Lille rejected. André had even agreed on personal terms on a three-year deal with Paris FC. The former Rennes midfielder has made clear to club president Olivier Létang his desire to make the switch to the capital.

André also refused to travel with the Lille squad for a preseason friendly game against Como. The report adds that Létang moved heaven and earth to convince André to stay put with Les Dogues, who will play in the Europa League next season. André is set to sign a two-year contract extension, tying him to Lille until 2028.
