Paris Saint-Germain have accelerated their efforts to sign Lille goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier in the wake of the uncertainty over Gianluigi Donnarumma’s future, according to L’Equipe.
PSG have reportedly agreed a five-year contract with Chevalier and are now working to strike a deal with Lille.
They are holding firm on a transfer fee of at least €40 million, a figure Les Parisiens appear ready to meet.
Lille are already preparing for the possibility of losing their star goalkeeper and have started exploring options to replace him.
Chevalier’s potential move to Paris is closely linked to Donnarumma’s future, whose contract runs until June 2026.
Unproductive renewal talks and a reluctance to repeat the Kylian Mbappe free transfer scenario have made PSG more receptive to offers this summer.
Manchester United and Chelsea have been linked with a move for Donnarumma, while Turkish giants Galatasaray are also interested.
Chevalier has established himself as one of the best young shot-stoppers in Europe and was recently named Ligue 1 Goalkeeper of the Year for the 2024-25 season.
He made an average of 2.8 saves per game at a 78% percentage while also preventing 8.42 goals, according to the ‘expected goals’ data.
If things go as planned over the coming weeks, Chevalier will be PSG’s first signing of the summer transfer window.
However, the European champions are reportedly eyeing a marquee winger, with Real Madrid’s Rodrygo a potential target.
