Paredes named in illegal online betting investigation | OneFootball

The latest report by Corriere della Sera claims there are 12 players under investigation for betting on illegal platforms.

None of them, however, would have “sold” the matches, on the contrary. Many declare that they played on other disciplines and admit that they did so to occupy the large amount of free time available between December 2021 and October 2023, especially in the national team.

Among the footballers under investigation are also Leandro Paredes and Nicolò Zaniolo, but at the time the only one to wear the Roma jersey was the current Fiorentina attacker, while the Argentine was at Juventus.

Among the others under investigation are Florenzi, Di Maria, Bellanova and McKennie. Therefore, it is not a sporting offence but a criminal offence.
