We’ve all seen it a million times, but any excuse is a great excuse to look back at THAT goal Papiss CissĂ© scored against Chelsea back in May 2012.

“Chelsea must hate me,” CissĂ© told the Athletic. “They were a bit like Swansea. Every game I played against them, I seemed to score.”

That was actually not so true. Cissé scored four times in five games against Chelsea in a Newcastle shirt, scoring a brace in two of those matches.

But at the end of the day, this is the goal that matters. However, Cissé wants you to remember his other goal from the same match.

“I’ve scored over 160 goals in my career, for teams in five countries, and this is the only one people ever talk about.

“This is my identity, this goal. They never talk about the first that night, which I loved: Davide Santon gave me the ball just inside the box and I had a split second to control and finish with my second touch, right into the top corner.

“They never mention that, probably because, after that second one, the first looked like a more ‘normal’ goal.”

Somehow, the goal wasn’t even nominated for the Puskas award that year. FIFA, what were you thinking?
