Bild reports that the PAOK owner has cancelled the move of Giannis Konstantelias to VfB Stuttgart at the last minute.

Earlier yesterday, it was reported that Stuttgart and PAOK had reached an agreement on the 22-year-old’s transfer. The two sides had reached an agreement on a fee that could reach €21m, the player had already agreed on a move to the Bundesliga.

Konstantelias then said his goodbyes and was on his way to the airport from the PAOK training camp in the Netherlands.

Then the move took a turn as the owner proceeded to veto the transfer. Konstantelias’ move to Stuttgart is now on the verge of collapse.

The reason the owner vetoed the move is due to fan backlash. The 22-year-old, dubbed ‘the Greek Messi’, is a fan favourite, and PAOK supporters even tried to block the club’s offices in Thessaloniki to stop the transfer from happening.

The Greek side will try to offer Konstantelias a new contract to keep him at the club.
