Leagues Cup action continues as MLS outfit New York Red Bulls take on Liga MX side Pachuca at Red Bull Arena.
Pachuca begin their Leagues Cup campaign after a 2-0 defeat to Pumas UNAM last time out on July 21. Guillermo Almada's have found life in the 2024 Liga MX Apertura season a bit difficult after their CONCACAF Champions Cup triumph over Columbus Crew in June with just one win through four matches played.
On the other hand, Red Bulls opened up their Leagues Cup campaign with a 0-0 (4-5 on penalties) defeat to fellow MLS side Toronto FC on July 27. New York have enjoyed an impressive 2024 MLS season with new head coach Sandro Schwarz and must pick up three points vs Pachuca if they are to have a shot at advancing out of East Group 6.
Here's 90min's guide to Pachuca vs Red Bulls.

Schwarz will be without a few key players such as Emil Forsberg, who's still dealing with a foot injury, as well as Peter Stroud and Serge Ngoma who are recovering from respective ankle and knee injuries.
New York Red Bulls predicted lineup vs Pachuca ( 4-4-2 ): Meara; Nealis, Nealis, Eile, Duncan; Gjengaar, Donkor, Edelman, Carmona; Manoel, Morgan.
Even though RBNY are missing a few important figures, they still have enough quality in the squad to keep it close against Pachuca in 90 minutes played. However, Pachuca will look to use their winning expertise found in CONCACAF Champions Cup to prevail over Red Bulls in penalty kicks.
Prediction: Pachuca 1-1 New York Red Bulls (5-4 on penalties)
