It might have been just 18 months he spent in the East End, but Dimitri Payet's spell with West Ham was something special for the player, the club, and an adoring fanbase.
His skill was sublime and he had a penchant for the spectacular, notably on this day nine years ago against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
With the game goalless moving towards the final quarter, the mercurial Frenchman stepped up to put a stunning free-kick past David de Gea, who was then widely regarded as the best keeper in England.
What a goal, and what a player.
The Irons would be pegged back by United, and eventually go out of the FA Cup in the replay, but Payet's goal, and his time with West Ham, continues to live long in memory.
