L’Équipe are reporting that Óscar García, Karel Geraerts, Philippe Montanier and Julien Stéphan are all in contention to replace David Guion at Girondins de Bordeaux.

Guion’s dismissal as Bordeaux manager was confirmed after the club’s 1-0 defeat against Stade Lavallois on Saturday. The result leaves Les Girondins 13th in Ligue 2, but they could slip further down the table before the end of the game week. The club have won just three of their first 10 games, having narrowly missed out on promotion last campaign.

The search for Guion’s successor is already underway, according to L’Équipe. A shortlist has even been established. Former Stade de Reims manager García, former Union Saint-Gilloise manager Geraerts, former Toulouse FC manager Montanier and former RC Strasbourg Alsace manager Stéphan all feature. None of the aforementioned managers are currently under contract. L’Équipe report that there is a fifth name on Bordeaux’s shortlist, however, the identity of the candidate is not yet known.
