Ornstein says Man Utd have made loan bid for “top candidate” Marc Cucurella | OneFootball

The trickle of whispers around Manchester United interest in Marc Cucurella is growing, and now top source David Ornstein is reporting that the Red Devils have submitted a proposal to sign the left back on loan.

There is still a lot to be negotiated – as Ornstein calls them the “parameters” around the loan, likely meaning what part of his wages they pay, what the loan fee is, and any potential buy options involved.

Cucurella is considered the “top candidate” for United as they search for a solution at left back, where Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia’s concurrent injuries have left them short. They apparently consider the Spaniard a good fit for Erik ten Hag’s system.

Chelsea have Ben Chilwell, with Ian Maatsen available to back him up, and Levi Colwill playing as a soft of narrow left back already, so they would be delighted to find a home for Cucurella for the season – and perhaps longer.
