We were hoping that Mauricio Pochettino’s press conference this afternoon was going to give us some more information on the injured players that we were notified about by the club today – Trevoh Chalobah, Robert Sanchez and Carney Chukwuemeka.

Instead of that, we got information about a TENTH injury to consider. Ben Chilwell, having started both England games in the international break, apparently got a dead leg in the second of those games.

The combination of minutes accumulated plus the dead leg could well rule him out of Saturday’s game. Pochettino insists that no decisions have been made, and it may be that other shortages force him to take a risk, but Marc Cucurella must now be in serious contention to play at left back against Burnley.

Chilwell was rested for the game against Leicester before the break as our medical staff look to keep him safe, so for England to start him twice then send him back with a knock is really frustrating.
