Ange Postecoglou is at risk of being sacked by Tottenham, if they fail to win the Southampton vs Tottenham fixture, an insider has claimed.
Southampton are in dire form right now. An unfortunate but telling tale of their season has been their inability to put together a serious run of momentum, which has reflected in their poor league standing.
As it stands, Southampton are rock bottom of the Premier League table. They are four points behind Wolves who are 19th, yet Wolves play their remaining game tonight against West Ham.
Many people will watch the West Ham vs Wolves match with an eye on "El Sackico"... Meaning that both managers are at risk of being sacked.
Well, Southampton might have their own taste of this on Sunday against Tottenham, except it's annoyingly only one-sided as it stands.
According to a social media post by Tottenham insider Paul O Keefe, Ange Postecoglou is under mounting pressure to win his two upcoming games, against Rangers and Southampton this week.
As it stands, the Aussie is not believed to be considered for the sacking but losing those games would make the situation "precarious."
@RichardMat68759 Not sure about that but defeat at Rangers and Southampton then it's very precarious–
From Southampton's perspective, this might feel like an easy three points for Tottenham. This is simply a reflection of the lack of confidence the Saints have right now, after being undone week in, week out.
For Tottenham, though, the confidence levels are the same. They have struggled to maintain their consistency levels this season. In fact, they are probably more inconsistent than Southampton - At least when we lose, we lose consistently, right?
So, this only gives Tottenham more reason to fight against Southampton on Sunday. Not that they needed any more motivation to keep up with the rest of the "big six."
As it stands, Russell Martin doesn't seem to be under pressure at Southampton. Some fans will argue that he should be under pressure but the fact of the matter is that he is not. Of course, this could all change the more humiliation which comes our way.
