In a recent report, Fichajes claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing a move for Chelsea forward Christopher Nkunku. It has been mentioned that Spurs are eager to get a loan deal done for the French striker with an option to purchase him permanently for €45m next summer.
Nkunku managed to catch the eye at times for the Blues in the recently concluded Premier League campaign. The French talent scored 14 times and secured five assists in 42 matches for Chelsea last season in multiple competitions.
The 27-year-old has led the line well and deserves credit for attempting 2.44 shots per 90 minutes in the Premier League. He has also kept 44% of his shots on target. Nkunku has also been tidy when distributing possession in the opponent’s half after completing 89.5% of his attempted passes in the English first division (stats via fbref.com).
His current contract at the West London club will expire in the summer of 2029. It won’t be easy for Spurs to land Nkunku on the cheap this off-season, so it makes sense for them to try and arrange a loan move with an option to buy him next summer.

Nkunku can find some space for himself to get a few strikes in at goal. He can be a streaky goal-getter up top and is a good dribbler with the ball as well.
The French sensation can even engineer the odd chance for his teammates to find the back of the net. He has already got some experience in the Premier League and could be a real asset for Tottenham next season.
Nkunku is primarily a centre-forward but can also play as a left-sided wide player or function in the number ten position if asked to do so. We can expect him to bring more firepower to the North London club’s attack. He is good enough to compete for regular first-team football at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next season.
At 27, Nkunku is playing in his prime and could help Spurs compete across all fronts in the coming years. Therefore, Tottenham would be wise to go all out to secure his services on loan in this summer transfer period.
