Over the course of the summer, Aimar Oroz has been strongly linked with a move away from Osasuna. Athletic Club have pushed hardest to sign him, and they’ve had at least one offer turned down by Los Rojillos. Girona, who have plenty of money to spend, are also keen on the Olympic champion.
However, it appears that Aimar will be going nowhere. During an interview with Noticias de Navarra, he’s confirmed that he has agreed a new contract with Osasuna, which will be announced shortly.
“As Braulio (Osasuna sporting director) said, the renewal has been agreed and news will come out shortly.”
Luis Sabalza, president of Osasuna, elaborated on Aimar’s impending new contract when he also spoke with Noticias de Navarra.
“He has the contract and it depends on him whether he wants to sign it, whenever he wants. We don’t have any inconvenience, or any excessive haste, but we do want him to sign for his peace of mind, and for ours.
“Aimar’s contract extension is to become one of the most important players or the most important in the squad. It is for a duration of four years.”
Aimar is one of the most promising young midfielders in La Liga, and he showed his quality for Spain at the 2024 Olympic Games. Osasuna will be desperate to have everything finalised before the end of the summer at the very latest.
