Olivier Giroud is back in the French national team and back making an impact.
The Milan striker has missed out on a call-up for Didier Deschamps’ squad for the past few France internationals but with the injury to Karim Benzema an opportunity presented itself.
And the 35-year-old has taken it with both hands.
First, Giroud helped set up Kylian Mbappé to break the deadlock against Austria in their Nations League encounter in Paris tonight before he got on the scoresheet himself with a glancing header from Antoine Griezmann’s cross.
That goal means he has now become France’s oldest goalscorer ever.
Not only that but he is now just two goals behind Thierry Henry in becoming the country’s all-time top goalscorer.
Another record is in sight for Oli.
