During Thursday's press conference, OL coach Paulo Fonseca was asked about the Algerian prodigy Khalis Merah.

The Portuguese manager was unequivocal. He is completely taken with the young Algerian player. "I am very happy, very satisfied with the work and the courage of this young player. The youngsters have qualities and they have made a lot of progress this week, but we have to choose the right moment to play them. It has to be in the right context. But I think we have two or three young players who can help the team." the Olympique Lyonnais coach revealed.

For his part, Corentin Tolisso, who has been named team captain, is also impressed by the young Algerian: "Khalis Merah has amazed everyone. I saw him last year, during the final week, and you could already tell he was a youngster with huge potential who often made the right choices. Now, I've been playing with him since early July. He's an extremely intelligent player with outstanding technical quality. Above all, he has a good mentality, and that's essential. He knows this isn't the end of the road, that he still has a lot to accomplish. If he stays humble, I think he'll go very far. It's fantastic for us that he's joined the first team and can play alongside us."
