OGC Nice president Jean-Pierre Rivere personally confirmed Florent Ghisolfi’s imminent move to Roma.
In the aftermath Nice’s 2-2 draw with Lille, Rivere told reporters of Ghisolfi’s request to join Roma at the end of the season.
As recounted by Rivere, the 39-year-old French executive is on the verge of joining Roma and becoming their new sporting director.
“Ghisolfi will go to Roma, we are happy for him,” said the Rivere. “We had a good run with him on a human level and it’s something we really appreciate, we wish him the best. It’s done, he asked us to leave and we accepted his request.”
“When a man has the opportunity to move to a higher level in the career field, you must let him go and wish him the best. And this also applies to football. His move to Roma shows that we didn’t make a bad choice in signing him.”
