Francesco Farioli has garnered quite a reputation in a short period of time at OGC Nice. Le Gym’s start-of-season form allowed them to challenge Paris Saint-Germain. There has since been a considerable downturn and Farioli has been challenged with his tactical ideals even coming into question. However, that has done little to dent his reputation as one of the most promising managers in Europe.

As reported by Telegraaf, Ajax, who are in the market for a replacement for interim manager John van’t Schip, have identified Farioli as a potential successor, whilst the Nice manager has also been linked with the jobs at AC Milan and Napoli. After just one season, which has had its ups and downs but could yet end with Les Aiglons securing European football next season, Farioli is being linked with a departure.

The Italian manager has now responded to the reports. “I will tell you about my week,” began Farioli in a press conference last Friday, beginning an anecdote that would evidence his commitment to the Ligue 1 club. “You’re going to quickly understand where my head is at. Just after the match against Lorient, my family returned to Italy. Since then, my car hasn’t left the training centre. I start at 7:00, I have my coffee and I get to work. That’s also what I expect from my players in terms of concentration. Rumours are only rumours and they should stay rumours,” responded Farioli.
