Werder Bremen have announced their second signing of the summer having signed 24-year-old central-defender Amos Pieper from Arminia Bielefeld on a free transfer.
The U21 German international joins from Bielefeld having played a big part in the club’s time in the Bundesliga before relegation this season.
Bremen’s sporting director Clemens Fritz speaks highly of Pieper: “At the age of 24, Amos already has experience from more than 100 professional games and has already gained experience in the Bundesliga for over two years. We assume that he will be able to help us immediately and we are pleased that he has decided to join Werder despite other opportunities.”
Pieper added: “From the first contact with Clemens Fritz and Frank Baumann, through the discussions with Ole Werner to my signature here, I always had the impression: That fits, I feel good. There’s no catch. What the club intends for me, what sporting prospects there are here – that appealed to me from the start and gave me a very good feeling.”
