Real Madrid’s 20-year-old midfielder Chema Andres has announced that he is set to begin a new chapter in his career with Bundesliga side Stuttgart.
The German club will pay €3 million for the Spanish talent, with Real Madrid securing a buy-back clause in the agreement—leaving the door open for a potential return in the future.
Chema, a product of La Fabrica, had been with the club for seven years.
His development through the youth system was closely followed by many, including Xabi Alonso, who coached him during his time at the academy and handed him an appearance at the Club World Cup.
Despite being considered one of the most promising midfielders in the setup, the club has decided to let him leave this summer at a time when Real Madrid lack depth in his profile.
Taking to social media, Chema shared an emotional farewell message. “After seven years, it’s time to say goodbye to what has been my home and my life for all this time.
“I arrived as a child eager to learn and play football, and I’m leaving as a totally different person, full of memories, lessons, and, above all, people who have shaped my path.”
He thanked the club, coaches, teammates, and fans for their support throughout his journey.
“Thank you for making every training session, every game, and every moment worthwhile. Thank you for everything, I will always carry this club in my heart,” he wrote.
Although his exit comes at a time when Real Madrid could use a midfield player of his skill set, Chema is keen to gain first-team experience in a competitive league.
Stuttgart offer him a fresh start and the opportunity to prove himself at the top level.
For now, Real Madrid lose a promising talent, but with the buy-back clause in place, the story between Chema and Los Blancos might not be over just yet.
