Official | Sofiane Alakouch joins FC Metz from relegated Nîmes | OneFootball

Having been released at the end of his contract by relegated Ligue 1 club Nîmes this summer, right-back Sofiane Alakouch has resurfaced in the French top flight with FC Metz.

Alakouch (22) impressed during NO’s first season back in Ligue 1 (2019/20) as Bernard Blaquart’s side raced to a top half finish but fitness issues and a struggling side generally prevented him from finding any rhythm in 2020/21. The defender has gathered 64 outings in Ligue 1 to date, scoring once and adding a trio of assists.

Alakouch told the FC Metz website: “I am very happy to join FC Metz! I’m impatient to start in my new colours and continue my career here”. He follows exciting Nancy attacking midfielder Amine Bassi (23) as Metz’s second major summer addition.
