Roma have officially announced the departure of Rick Karsdorp as the parties agreed to mutually terminate his contract.

The club’s longest-tenured player, the Giallorossi released a statement to bid farewell to the Dutchman, who originally joined in the summer of 2017—one of the first acquisitions of former executive Ramon Monchi.

“Roma announces it has reached an agreement for the consensual termination of the contract with footballer Rick Karsdorp,” reads the official statement.

“Having joined the Giallorossi in the summer of 2017, the footballer has made 157 total appearances with this shirt, contributing to winning the Conference League in 2022.”

Adding, “The club thanks Rick for his contribution and dedication to AS Roma and wish him and his family a bright future at their next destination.”

The defender also released a brief statement to thank Roma and the supporters for their time together.

“I want to thank the Roma fans for these intense seasons I have played here,” Karsdorp stated. “I have always give my all, both of my kids are born in Rome. That makes me very proud, goodbye Roma.”
