Real Madrid new signing Dean Huijsen has been included in the Spain squad for their upcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures next month.

Los Blancos signed Huijsen from AFC Bournemouth by activating his £50 million release clause earlier this month.

The 20-year-old centre-back is set to join the club next month, but prior to that he will link up with the Spanish national team.

La Roja take on France in the semi-finals of the UEFA Nations League, vying for a place in the final where they will meet one of Germany or Portugal.

A defeat against Les Blues would see Luis de La Fuente’s men play the third-place playoff match.

And, Huijsen is the only Real Madrid player to have been named in the Spain squad.

Dani Carvajal is not included as he is still in the final stage of his recovery from an ACL injury while the likes of Dani Ceballos, Lucas Vazquez, and Fran Garcia are not in consideration.

Raul Asencio did feature in the Spain squad during the previous international break in March, but with all the frontline defenders fully fit and available, De La Fuente has opted not to call up the La Fabrica graduate.
